Evolution Aqua Surge Filter
$499.79
Evolution Aqua Surge Filter – Ultimate UV & Air Clean Technology
Evolution Aqua Surge Filter
Introducing the Evolution Aqua Surge Filter – an innovative, external UV pond filter that combines patented Air Clean Technology with advanced K+Media to deliver crystal clear water to your koi pond. Engineered for pump-fed systems in ponds up to 1,320 gallons, the Surge Filter not only clears green water and algae but also efficiently dislodges and flushes waste, leaving you with a pristine water feature and more time to enjoy your surroundings.
Key Features
Patented Air Clean Technology: Uses a unique air and water mixing process to agitate open-cell K+Media and dislodge trapped debris without the mess of traditional sponge filters.
Built-In UV Clarification: Integrated 18-Watt UVC bulb helps eliminate green water and algae, ensuring a vibrant, healthy pond environment.
Compact & Space-Saving: Its streamlined design makes it ideal for installations where space is at a premium.
Complete Installation Kit: Comes with mounting brackets, stepped hosetail fittings (0.75", 1", and 1.25"), ball valves, and a clear drain hose so you can easily monitor wastewater flow during cleaning cycles.
Virtually Maintenance Free: With a self-cleaning process that leaves your hands dry, the Surge Filter minimizes routine upkeep.
How It Works
Water is drawn from your pond by a submersible pump and delivered to the Surge Filter. Inside the filter, a built-in UV clarifier works to neutralize green water and algae. Simultaneously, air is drawn into the unit where it mixes with the water, causing the advanced open-cell K+Media to move chaotically. This agitation dislodges accumulated waste from the media, which then exits through the waste line at the bottom, returning clean water to your pond.
No more messy cleaning with sponges or foams – simply operate the ball valves to initiate a cleaning cycle, and watch as the filter self-cleans while your pond continues to run clear.

Filter Installation
The Surge Filter is designed for pump-fed setups. Install your submersible pump in the pond, slightly raised off the bottom, so that water is drawn from the pond and fed into the Surge Filter. Filtered water is then returned to the pond by gravity via a hose – either directly back to the pond or through a waterfall arrangement.
For optimal performance, ensure the flow rate through the filter is around 660 GPH and do not exceed 925 GPH. Make sure you have sufficient flexible hose length to connect both the pump to the filter and the filter back to the pond.
Once installed, simply turn on the pump to fill the filter with water. During normal operation, the inlet and outlet valves remain open and the waste valve is closed, while the UVC operates continuously to combat algae. When a cleaning cycle is initiated, the pump will shut off, the inlet and outlet valves will close, and the waste valve will open. Air will then agitate the K+Media to dislodge debris, which is expelled through the waste line. It is recommended to switch off the UVC if the filter remains empty for an extended period.
The Evolution Aqua Surge Filter combines innovative air clean technology with effective UV treatment, advanced mechanical filtration, and user-friendly design to deliver crystal clear water in your pond. Enjoy effortless maintenance and reliable performance with this state-of-the-art filtration solution.

How It Works
The Evolution Aqua Cetus Sieve is a mechanical pre-filter that functions as a self-adjusting sieve to capture and remove heavy debris before water reaches your main filter system. Designed with a weir that automatically adapts to the flow in gravity-fed setups, it also features Evolution Aqua’s patented pond flow regulation technology, which adjusts the inlet height to ensure your pump always receives adequate water even if pond levels fluctuate.
Water enters the unit through a bellows—a key component of Evolution Aqua’s pondflow technology—and passes through a 300-micron screen. Over time, waste accumulates on this screen; simply hose it off or open the waste port valve to clear the buildup. For a more thorough cleaning, the screen can be removed, ensuring that your pond maintains optimal biological activity and reduced maintenance demands.
Upgrade your pond’s pre-filtration with the Evolution Aqua Cetus Sieve and enjoy enhanced water quality and lower overall maintenance, keeping your pond pristine and your aquatic life healthy.

Evolution Aqua evoUV Clarifier
from $271.99
Evolution Aqua evoUV Clarifier
Green water in your pond can be a persistent issue, but with the Evolution Aqua evoUV Clarifier, achieving crystal-clear water is effortless. Designed to be economical, efficient, and easy to install, this UV clarifier is perfect for both new and existing water features. Its fully water-tight construction ensures durability, yet the unit is engineered for straightforward maintenance and serviceability—ideal for both residential and commercial applications.
Available in five sizes, the evoUV Clarifier is tailored to suit ponds of various capacities, ensuring you get the right fit for your water garden. Each unit is backed by a 2-year warranty, so you can enjoy peace of mind along with pristine water.
How It Works
The evoUV Clarifier houses an ultraviolet light bulb inside a sealed quartz sleeve. As pond water flows through the unit, the UV light targets and destroys the DNA of single-celled algae. Once the algae are neutralized, they clump together, making them easier for your pond’s filtration system to remove. This process dramatically improves water clarity and reduces the green tint in your pond.
Maintenance Guidelines
To maintain peak performance, it’s essential to periodically clean the quartz sleeve. Over time, dirt and mineral deposits can accumulate on the surface, diminishing the UV light’s effectiveness. We recommend using a mild acid, such as white vinegar, or a specialized cleaner (for example, Airmax Fountain Aeration Cleaner) along with a soft-bristled brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly before reassembling the unit.
The included UV bulb is rated for approximately 9,000 hours. For continuous operation during spring and summer, replacing the bulb annually is advised.

Please note: The EazyPod, EazyPodAir, and EazyPod Complete share the same core filter system. The EazyPodAir and EazyPod Complete models include a pump kit, while only the EazyPod is offered without one. The EazyPod Complete is the only version that includes a UV filter.
How It Works
Pond water enters the filter through an inlet. If your system includes the 18-Watt UV-C (EazyPod Complete), the water passes by the UV bulb first to help eliminate algae before moving on. Next, a stainless steel grill mechanically removes larger solids as the water flows into the outer chamber. Finer particles are then captured by 18 liters of K1 Micro beads in the center chamber, where beneficial bacteria and biofilms work to biologically polish the water. Clean, clear water exits through the return line and flows back into your pond.
During the cleaning cycle, the integrated air pump (included with EazyPodAir and EazyPod Complete) agitates the media, dislodging debris buildup for an efficient, automated backwash. For those seeking even more convenience, the optional EazyPod Automatic upgrade provides a self-cleaning function.
Installation Guide
Pump-Fed Setup
In a pump-fed installation, a submerged pump directs water into the filter, and after processing, the water returns to the pond by gravity via tubing, a waterfall, or a spillway box. All three models are suitable for this configuration.
Gravity-Fed Setup
For gravity-fed installations, the filter is placed at the same level as your pond. Note that only the EazyPod and EazyPodAir models can be installed in a gravity-fed configuration.
Maintenance
The EazyPod is designed for simplicity. In addition to routine backwashing based on your pond's nutrient load, you should periodically inspect the UV quartz sleeve (if applicable) for buildup and replace the UV bulb annually to maintain optimal performance.
Experience the ease of maintenance and exceptional water clarity with the Evolution Aqua EazyPod Gravity Pond Filter System – the smart, efficient solution for your koi pond.

Evolution Aqua Nexus Automatic System Filter
from $1,709.99
Nexus Automatic – Fully Automated Cleaning for Your Nexus Filters
Simplify your pond maintenance with the Nexus Automatic upgrade. Designed to fully automate the cleaning cycle of your Nexus or Nexus+ Filter, this system allows you to set a programmable timer to control cleaning intervals based on your pond's conditions and fish load. Factory preset to activate every 3 days for a 10-minute cleaning cycle, it is available in both gravity-fed and pump-fed versions for models manufactured after 2006.
Optimized for Effortless Maintenance
Regular backflushing of Nexus filters can be a time-consuming chore, requiring you to be at the pond to operate ball valves and pumps manually. The Nexus Automatic upgrade takes care of these functions automatically, ensuring that your filter remains clean without constant supervision.
For ponds with fish, it is recommended to exchange about 10% of the pond water weekly to maintain optimal water quality.
Each unit comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
When to Use
This upgrade kit is ideal for owners of Nexus 300, 310, or 320 and Nexus 200, 210, or 220 filters (manufactured after 2006) who want the convenience of programmable cleaning cycles. With the Nexus Automatic, the entire cleaning process—from shutting off the pump to activating the waste valve and backflushing—is handled mechanically.
How It Works – Pump-Fed Setup
In a pump-fed configuration, the programmable timer triggers the cleaning cycle by switching off the circulating pump and allowing the water level within the filter to equalize. Air, normally diverted to the outer bio-chamber, is rerouted to the center chamber (or Eazy filter) to agitate and clean the filter media. Once the media is thoroughly cleaned, the automated waste valve opens to drain the debris. After the valve closes, the air flow is restored to the outer chamber and the pump restarts, returning the filter to normal operation. Note that since water is lost during cleaning, replenishment of pond water is necessary.
How It Works – Gravity-Fed Setup
For gravity-fed installations, the process begins similarly with the timer shutting off the pump to equalize the water level. The inlet valve then closes and directs air to the center of the filter to clean the Eazy filter media. The waste valve opens to remove accumulated debris, and once the Eazy chamber is drained, the inlet valve reopens for a final flush. With the waste valve closing and air redirected back to the bio-chamber, the pump resumes, and normal filtration continues. As with pump-fed systems, water lost during the cleaning cycle must be replenished.

How It Works
Water enters the filter through the inlet and passes by the ultraviolet bulb (on the UV model), which helps reduce green water by eliminating single-celled algae. The water then flows into the outer chamber before moving into the inner chamber through a stainless steel screen. This screen, featuring specialized perforations, creates a dynamic flow that promotes both upward and downward movement, encouraging debris to settle in the outer chamber while the inner chamber and K1 Micro media capture smaller particles and biologically polish the water. Clean water then exits through the return outlet.
Installation Guide
The EazyPod Automatic is designed for pump-fed installations only. In this configuration, a submerged pump directs water to the filter, and after filtration, the clean water returns to the pond by gravity via tubing, a waterfall, or a spillway box. Its automated cleaning cycle – factory set for every 3 days and adjustable as needed – ensures hassle-free operation.
Maintenance
In addition to the automated cleaning cycles, regular maintenance involves checking the UV quartz sleeve for buildup and replacing the UV bulb annually. This simple upkeep routine keeps your system operating at peak performance, ensuring your pond remains clean and vibrant.
Embrace a cleaner, more convenient pond care experience with the Evolution Aqua EazyPod Automatic Gravity Pond Filter – the smart choice for maintaining clear, healthy water without the hassle.

Award-winning koi filtration systems trusted by pond enthusiasts.
How It Works
The Nexus+ filter operates as an integrated mechanical and biological system. Water enters through the inlet into an inner chamber where a vortex effect allows larger solids to settle. It then passes through the EAZY filter – a static bed of K1 Micro Media that traps finer particles. The pre-filtered water subsequently flows into the outer chamber where the dynamic K+Media moving bed fosters rapid bacterial growth. Here, beneficial bacteria break down ammonia and nitrites into less harmful nitrates before the water exits through the outlet back into your pond.
Installation Guide
Pump-Fed Setup
In a pump-fed configuration, a submerged pump directs water into the filter. Once processed, the water returns to the pond via a waterfall or a large-diameter pipe. It is recommended to install a UV unit downstream to match your pump’s flow rate and pond size.
Gravity-Fed Setup
For gravity-fed installations, ensure the water level in the filter is aligned with the pond's surface. Water flows from a 4" bottom drain upward through the filter. The pump, located after the filtration unit, then recirculates the cleaned water back to the pond. As with pump-fed systems, a properly sized UV unit is advised.
Upgrade your pond filtration with the Evolution Aqua Nexus+ series – where innovative design meets effortless maintenance to deliver clear, healthy water for your koi pond.
