How It Works
The evoUV Clarifier houses an ultraviolet light bulb inside a sealed quartz sleeve. As pond water flows through the unit, the UV light targets and destroys the DNA of single-celled algae. Once the algae are neutralized, they clump together, making them easier for your pond’s filtration system to remove. This process dramatically improves water clarity and reduces the green tint in your pond.
Maintenance Guidelines
To maintain peak performance, it’s essential to periodically clean the quartz sleeve. Over time, dirt and mineral deposits can accumulate on the surface, diminishing the UV light’s effectiveness. We recommend using a mild acid, such as white vinegar, or a specialized cleaner (for example, Airmax Fountain Aeration Cleaner) along with a soft-bristled brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly before reassembling the unit.
The included UV bulb is rated for approximately 9,000 hours. For continuous operation during spring and summer, replacing the bulb annually is advised.

*For the 15, 25, 30, and 55 Watt models: Step-down barbed fittings with a 1.5" male thread are included. Use a PVC Male Threaded Adapter or glue a 2" fitting over the top of the inlet/outlet to connect to 2" pipe as needed. For the 110 Watt model, a 2" pressure pipe can be glued directly into the inlet/outlet.
