Why pond owners add these systems
Still water can develop low oxygen, odors, and organic buildup, and deeper water may stay cut off from the surface during warm weather. Moving the water helps carry oxygen through more of the pond and gives fish and beneficial bacteria better conditions.

The main types, and when each fits
Floating display aerator
The Typhoon 3/4 HP Floating Display Aerator combines surface splashing with a decorative spray, so one unit does both jobs. Choose a display aerator when you want added oxygen and a visible fountain pattern from a single unit.
Floating lake fountain
The HydroTorque Series Floating Lake Fountain is built around the display, with motor sizes from ½ HP to 5 HP for larger residential and commercial water. Choose a lake fountain when spray height and appearance lead the project. If deeper circulation matters more than the display, look at bottom aeration instead.
Bottom aeration
The Vanguard Electric Bottom Aeration System sends air from a shore-based unit to diffusers on the pond floor, and rising bubbles carry deeper water upward. Choose bottom aeration when turning over the lower water layer is the main goal, especially in deeper ponds where surface spray does not reach.
Solar aeration
The Hydro Torque Solar Series Aeration System runs on solar power, so no electric service has to reach the pond. Choose solar when trenching a power line to the water would be difficult or expensive.
Surface aerator and de-icer
The Pond Spa Surface Aerator / De-Icer works as a surface aerator in warm months and keeps water moving in winter to limit ice formation. Choose this unit when you want one piece of equipment for summer circulation and winter ice control.
Lighting and seasonal displays

How to choose the right size or model
Three questions usually settle it.
- Main goal. Decide whether aeration, winter ice control, or the display pattern matters most, since each type balances those differently.
- Power at the site. Electric units need mains power near the water. Solar systems avoid that run but need clear sun on the panels.
- Depth and shape. Deeper ponds usually get more from bottom aeration than from surface movement, and a long or divided pond may need more than one unit.
