Aqua Ultraviolet Ultima II Pond Filters are pressurized bio‑mechanical filters engineered for high flow rates, heavy fish loads, and demanding pond environments. They combine powerful mechanical solids capture with advanced biological filtration using patented “Bio‑Tube” media, making them suitable for everything from small backyard koi ponds to large aquaculture and commercial water features.

Inside each Ultima II, the tubular media has ridges and an internal cross section that dramatically increase surface area (up to about 800 sq. ft. per cubic ft of media), giving beneficial bacteria plenty of room to convert toxic ammonia and nitrite into safer compounds. The same dense media bed also traps fine debris without clumping, and a patented cyclonic backwash system with internal jets cleans the filter in just a few minutes by simply turning the multi‑port valve—no need to open the tank or handle dirty media.

The line includes models for ponds from roughly 500 up to 60,000 gallons, with typical max flow rates ranging from about 1,200 gph on the Ultima II 1000 to over 20,000 gph on the largest 60,000‑gallon units. All filters come pre‑loaded with media (often pre‑seeded bacteria), use compact, bury‑able bodies with 1.5", 2", or 3" ports depending on size, and are designed to pair well with external pumps and, when desired, separate UV clarifiers from Aqua Ultraviolet.
