Why add a fountain
A fountain gives the eye something to settle on and the ear steady water sound that can help mask road noise and other background sound.
Cast stone is heavy and meant to stay in one place, so most people plan a fountain as a fixed part of the landscape. Hand-applied color weathers gradually outdoors alongside paving, walls, and planting.
These pieces suit courtyards, patios, driveway turns, garden beds, and open lawns where a lasting centerpiece is wanted.
The main types and when each fits
The line covers several distinct forms. Where the piece will stand and how you want the water to sound usually decide it.
Tiered fountains
Choose a tiered fountain when it will stand in the open and be read from all sides, such as the middle of a lawn, courtyard, or driveway. Tiers with wide vertical drops move the most water and give the strongest sound, and the line runs from one-tier pieces up to four-tier models.
Wall and corner fountains
Choose a wall fountain when floor space is tight and there is a wall or fence to work against. Flat-backed designs sit against masonry, and corner pieces are angled for where two walls meet. These fit terraces and small courtyards well.
Statue and figurative fountains
Choose a statue fountain when the figure itself is the draw: lions, dolphins, sea horses, cherubs, and horses. They suit formal and European-style grounds and come in free-standing and wall-mounted versions.
Cascade and rain fountains
Choose a rain or cascade fountain when you want smooth sheets and rain-like sound instead of splashing tiers. The geometric, clean-lined shapes suit contemporary architecture, and this line also carries modern sculptural pieces such as the Mystic Streams and Moderno fountains.
Urn and bubbler fountains
Choose an urn or bubbler when you want a soft bubbling sound you can sit and talk beside, or a compact vertical piece for a patio corner or a small planting bed.
How to choose the right size and model
Start with the spot the piece will occupy and the distance it will be viewed from.
Footprint and scale
Pieces run from compact patio accents up to the largest Bracci estate basins. A large tiered tower needs open ground and long sightlines; a small bubbler can hold a corner of a patio.
Water sound
Wide tiers with long drops give the loudest water sound, which works well when the aim is masking outside noise. Spheres, urns, and bubblers give a soft rustle that suits seating areas.
Basin setup
Some models are marked self-contained, some are sold with a matching basin or pond named in the product title, and some are built to sit at the edge of an existing pond. Standalone basins and ponds are sold on their own as well.
Finish
Because the finish is applied by hand, color varies with texture, size, and light. Fiore Stone finish samples let you see and touch the real finish before ordering a large piece.
Installation, power and placement
Cast stone pieces are heavy and meant to stay put, so the groundwork matters before anything arrives.
- Foundation: a compacted, level pad, such as reinforced poured concrete or leveled pavers, helps keep heavy pieces from settling or cracking.
- Power: fountain pumps need power at the site, so plan for an outdoor GFCI outlet within reach, or conduit run to the pad before installation.
- Access: large one-piece basins and multi-tier estate fountains need clear gate access and a crew or rigging equipment to set in place.
- Cold weather: in freezing climates, drain basins fully, bring any pump indoors for the winter, and cover the piece so standing water cannot freeze inside it.
Basins, ponds and what comes with them
Many models come with the catch basin or pond named in the product title. Standalone components are available too.
- Quatrefoil one-piece basins, 41 inches and 62 inches wide
- Round one-piece basins, 46 inches and 55 inches in diameter
- Fiore poly ponds, 82.5 inches in diameter with a set of 6 coping caps, and 99.5 inches in diameter with a set of 8 coping caps
- Bracci stone basins, 12 feet and 16 feet
Check the individual product page for the exact components with each model, since what comes with a fountain varies from one to the next.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about our fiore stone.
Do Fiore Stone fountains need a dedicated water line?
Not usually. Some models are listed as self-contained, while others are built to work with a separate basin or pond, so check the product page for the pump and water setup of the model you are considering.
What is the difference between a model with a basin and one without?
A model sold with a basin or pond holds its water in that catch basin, while a model without one is either self-contained or built to sit at the edge of an existing pond. The product title states which basin or pond is included.
How do I choose from so many finishes?
Order the Fiore Stone finish samples first. They let you see and touch the hand-applied finish in daylight against your paving and walls before you order a full piece, since color can vary by texture, size, and lighting.
Can I install one of these fountains myself?
Small patio and wall pieces are the ones most people set on a prepared pad themselves, while multi-tier estate fountains and large one-piece basins call for a landscape contractor or rigging equipment because of their weight.
What should I send if I want help choosing?
Send us the space you have in mind, its size, the viewing distance, the water sound you prefer, and how close power is. We will point you to the models that fit and the basin or pond that suits them.
