A V-shaped cutting blade on a rope. You throw it out across the weed bed, let it sink, and pull it back — the serrated blades shear submerged weeds off near the base as they come through. No motor, no fuel, nothing to maintain.
It is the cheapest way to open up a swimming area or a dock approach without hiring anyone or putting chemicals in the water. Expect to work at it: a few passes clears a usable channel, and cut weeds float up so you will want a rake to pull them ashore afterwards.

Choose this if
You want to clear a defined area — around a dock, a beach entry, a fishing spot — rather than treat a whole lake. For raking cut weeds out afterwards, pair it with a Lake Rake. For much larger areas, the Beachroller flattens weeds over a wider path in fewer passes.
Cutting is a mechanical fix and weeds regrow. If you want to slow that down, pond dye reduces the light submerged weeds need, and phosphate binding removes the nutrient driving growth in the first place.
