Aquascape Lake Phosphate Binder Packs

Phosphate is the nutrient algae grows on. Runoff from fertilised lawns and fields, waterfowl, and decaying organic matter all load it into a lake, and once phosphate levels are high enough no amount of treating the algae itself will keep ahead of the next bloom. This removes the fuel rather than fighting the fire.

Water-soluble packs bind orthophosphate quickly and dose the water column evenly. Toss them in where you need them — no measuring, and you can reach shorelines and inlets where runoff enters.

Important

Formulated for lakes and large ponds only. In a small enclosed system this can cause dangerous pH swings — do not use it in a water garden.

Phosphate control works best alongside aeration. Bottom-diffused aeration keeps the water column circulating and stops the anaerobic conditions at depth that release stored phosphate back into the water.
