For lakes and large ponds that stay stubbornly cloudy or muddy-brown. The usual causes are suspended clay, mineral sediment and silt — often after heavy rain, bank erosion, or bottom-feeding fish stirring things up. None of that is biological, which is why bacteria treatments do nothing for it.
This is a flocculant. It causes the suspended particles to clump and settle out of the water column, and clarity returns as they drop.
Sizing and coverage
- 1 gallon treats up to 1/4 acre for up to 3 months
- Effective on clay, mineral material and general sediment
Important
Read this part before ordering. In a system with a heavy fish load, flocculants can cause gill stress or fish loss — the settling particles pass across the gills on their way down. It is safe where fish numbers are naturally proportioned to the water volume, which is normal for a lake but not for a stocked pond.
If the water is green rather than brown or grey, the problem is suspended algae and this is the wrong product. Phosphate binding and aeration address that instead.
Lake and large pond use only. Safe for plants and animals at label rates.
