Do your power cords have any rodent deterrent features?
While our power cords don’t come with a specific rodent deterrent coating, many customers opt to bury the cord if they’re concerned about damage from pests or rodents.
Are Kasco products safe to use?
Absolutely. Most Kasco products undergo rigorous testing by ETL to meet UL and CSA standards for underwater applications. All our fountain models are equipped with control boxes that include GFCI or GFCB protection. For safety, we recommend using these control boxes or plugging the units into GFI outlets. IMPORTANT: NEVER ENTER THE WATER WHEN A DE-ICER, FLOATING FOUNTAIN, AERATOR, OR CIRCULATOR/MIXER IS IN OPERATION.
Are Kasco products tested before shipping?
Yes, each Kasco product is individually tested to ensure it operates correctly before shipping. This includes Hipot Voltage Testing to confirm there are no grounding issues with the unit or cord.
Can Kasco products be repaired if they are out of warranty?
Yes, in many cases, repairing a Kasco product is more cost-effective than buying a new one. Contact us to check if your unit is repairable. We will always inform you of the repair costs before proceeding, so you can decide whether to repair or replace the unit.
Can I run my Kasco unit continuously throughout the year?
Yes and no. Kasco products are built for continuous-duty and can operate 24/7. However, if you experience ice over your pond during winter, it’s best to remove and store Kasco Floating Fountains and Pond Aerators to prevent super-cooling the water and thickening the ice, which can damage the float and unit. Kasco Water Circulators, on the other hand, can run year-round in any climate, as they keep an area of the pond or lake ice-free without splashing water.
