   For optimal performance, ensure the power cord is long enough to reach from the motor to the pond floor, run along the pond floor to the edge, and back up to the plugin. Avoid a straight "B-line" from the pond edge to the fountain, as it can cause undue pressure on the motor and outlet. Be sure to allow enough slack in the cord.
   
   
2. What's the difference between oil-filled and oil-free motors?
   
   Both oil-filled and oil-free motors require no maintenance from the user. Our manufacturer has carefully selected which models perform best with or without oil, ensuring optimal performance for each model.
   
   
3. What safety precautions should I follow when using my Scott Aerator product?
